This album package was designed to capture the mood and authenticity of classic blues and jazz recordings while still feeling contemporary and distinctive. I drew heavy inspiration from the timeless visual language of iconic Blue Note Records album covers — particularly their bold typography, restrained color palettes, and strong photographic composition — and reinterpreted those influences through a more modern lens.
The primary challenge was balancing atmosphere, musical personality, and clarity. I focused heavily on typography, hierarchy, and pacing throughout the package to create a system that felt both expressive and highly legible across the cover, disc, tray card, and interior layouts. The result was a cohesive visual identity that complemented the emotional tone of the music while maintaining a clean, classic sophistication.
